Job Summary

We are hiring a dedicated and experienced Deli Manager to lead our deli department in Albany, NY. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of deli operations, including food preparation, team leadership, customer service, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with all food safety standards. The ideal candidate has a passion for fresh food, strong leadership skills, and a desire to create a welcoming and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the deli, ensuring efficient workflow, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise, train, and schedule deli staff; promote a team-focused, high-performance environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels; place orders and receive deliveries in accordance with budget goals.
  • Create and maintain appealing product displays, signage, and promotions to increase sales.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by handling inquiries, requests, and complaints professionally.
  • Track department performance, including sales, labor, waste, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with store leadership to plan promotions, seasonal offerings, and new product rollouts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary or hospitality training a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a deli, grocery, or food service environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Working knowledge of food preparation, sanitation guidelines, and proper handling procedures (ServSafe certification required).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficient with basic computer systems, scheduling tools, and point-of-sale systems.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000 – $60,000/year, commensurate with experience
